Winner of the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society Award in 2007 and last year BBC Music Magazine Award for best change music disc, the Dante Quartet is one of Britain's finest ensembles.  Founded in 1995 at Prussia Cove in Cornwall, the quartet chose Dante's name to reflect the idea of a great journey of discovery.  Renowned for its imaginative programming and its emotionally charged performances, the Dante Quartet is a regular guest at festivals and music societies throughout the UK and abroad, broadcasting on Radio 3 and recording for Hyperion.  They are also quartet-in-residence at King's College, Cambridge.  Their latest CD, of Debussy and Ravel, has attracted rave reviews, and later this year the quartet will appear at London’s Wigmore Hall, Kings Place, Prague and the Netherlands. The Dante Summer Festival in the Tamar Valley was launched in 2004

They have made three widely acclaimed CD’s and won unexpected fame when their arrangement of the Robert Burns classic, 'Auld Lang Syne’, featured prominently in the 2008 hit film version of ‘Sex and The City’, and on the movie soundtrack.
