Lavethan: Venue and Directions

Lavethan Grounds

Lavethan is an ancient manor house set in an enchanting wooded valley. The stone barn, which originally housed animals and was subsequently used as a tractor shed, has recently been converted into a beautiful concert space with an excellent acoustic. The gardens are extensive, with huge trees, colourful borders and also a wilderness area featuring a Celtic cross and a Holy Well. Visitors are welcome to explore the surroundings and enjoy the great views over the valley.

Directions to Lavethan, Blisland, PL30 4QG:

Drive through Blisland village with the green on your right, past the church on your left. After the green, turn left down the lane signposted towards Merrymeeting. After a quarter of a mile, turn left between two stone gate-posts without a gate, onto a tree-lined drive.

Will be clearly signposted in the big top field on the left of the drive, and we ask you to leave a space of at least 2 metres between each car. There's a walk of 150 metres down the drive to the Barn. Limited disabled parking/drop-off will be available closer to the Barn; however, please note that there is still a 70-metre walk across grass to the Barn entrance.

Drinks and refreshments:

We intend to provide refreshments this year as listed in the programme, and will take care for this to be done safely. If the government tightens restrictions, then you are welcome to bring your own drinks and refreshments. The gardens at Lavethan are beautiful and worth exploring: please feel free to arrive early or stay afterwards to look around. There is plenty of space outside for groups to spread out.
