The Dante Quartet is delighted to invite you to its fourth Summer Music Festival in the Tamar Valley, Cornwall.  As our audience grows, we are expanding the festival to five days of top-quality classical concerts, folk music, country walks and social events.

This year our programme has a Russian slant, featuring music by Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky and Shostakovich, readings from Tolstoy, a Russian Barn Dance and a new piece by Vladislav Shoot written for the unusual combination of string quartet with balalaika.  We will also play several quartets by our beloved Haydn, including a performance by candlelight of his spiritual masterpiece, "Christ's Seven last Words on the Cross", in the magical setting of St Mary Magdalene Church in Launceston.

Families with children are warmly invited to all the events, and particularly to "Paint the Music" with artist Nigel Edwards.  Our work with young people takes on a new dimension in the opening concert, where we will perform Bach's Double Concerto with a specially created orchestra of young string players from Callington College and other local schools.  Once again, the festival will support local charities.

We look forward to welcoming back our audience and we thank all the local people and businesses who gave us so much support.  We would also like to invite visitors from elsewhere in the UK to join us for a feast of music in this beautiful part of the West Country.
